E.L. Lockett Scholarship Fund
The mission and vision for the E.L. Lockett Scholarship Fund is to provide high school student of New St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church of all backgrounds and needs with future academics. It’s our vision to encourage and motivate every student to learn and grow for the future. This way each student will have access to a continued learning environment that will stimulate and nurture their physical, emotional, creative, social, and moral development. This will provide students with the opportunity to be outstanding and productive citizens.
Requirements:
- 21 years of age or younger graduating high school
- Applicants will need to apply by January 1st of their senior year along with a written 200-word count to a one-page essay on
- (How Higher Education Will Help You Make a Positive Impact as a Christian and a Citizen).
- Be an active member at New St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church
- Complete 40 hours of community work/missionary work within the church
- GPA score of a 2.75 or better
- Written acceptance letter of enrolment from the educational institution of your choice.
